Lynne Cooper spent twenty two years as a science teacher. Starting in Doncaster she moved to a York school where she pioneered the introduction Initial teacher training working with the University of York. Building the partnership from one trainee to a whole school program involving four departments, two institutions, five schools and cohorts of some 15 trainees each year in a highly regarded and very successful partnership
She held a variety of responsibilities from Head of Chemistry to second in department. She worked for the Gatsby Foundation to introduce the cognitive acceleration programs to York schools.
Latterly she became the schools professional tutor responsible for the induction of NQTs (Newly Qualified Teachers) and staff CPD (Continuing Professional Development).
Lynne now works as a professional development leader at the National Science Learning Centre and is responsible for the design and delivery of a range of courses.
