Dawn Jones joined the Science Learning Centre North West in January 2009 as Assistant Director, having worked as the Secondary National Strategy Science Consultant to Blackburn.
Dawn worked as a research assistant at St. Bart’s in London before she began teaching. As a classroom teacher Dawn taught the 11-16 age range and A-Level Biology and Chemistry.
During this time Dawn also completed a National Professional Qualification for Headship and began an MSc in Educational Leadership and Management at Manchester Metropolitan University, which she completed in 2004. Dawn is a Chartered Science Teacher (CSciTeach) and a Chartered Education Assessor (CEA) and is currently working towards her Docorate.
Dawn has a keen interest in the field of developing literacy through science, particularly for EAL and Gifted and Talented students.
